guided visit to the Collegiate church and collection of sacred art
The visit to the old Collegiate Church offers a detailed look at its various elements and symbolism. It includes climbing the tower and accessing three rooms with the permanent collection of sacred art. Visitors can admire valuable pieces of gold and silverwork, liturgical vestments, and religious imagery. A highlight of the collection is a polychrome stone image of Saint Anne with three figures (14th-15th century), originally from the parish church.
Interpretation center
The chancel and sacristy, now occupied by the Interpretation Center, are all that remain of this now deconsecrated building, which was the oldest known parish church in Muros.

the route 2 prolongs itself to the santuary of the ‘virxe do camilo’ (virgin of the way)
This is a simbol of maritim society and its religiosity. for one part it apears vinculeted with the first news of the hospital ‘lazerados’ (lepers), a sign, therephore, of charity. By other hand it was the center of the maritim devotion; fishermen and sailors entrust themselves to our lady of the Way, giving rise to the constant delivery of ex-votos, an offering in gratitude for a divine favor.

Advance booking is required to ensure availability and allow for proper organization of the visit. A group consists of a minimum of 15 people. Larger groups will be divided into two or three smaller groups.

Our guides will help you visualize and explore topics related to art, culture, history, ethnography, and more, revealing the meanings, legends, and traditions hidden beneath the surface. Our goal is to make learning effortless and fun. Muros, Vila de Auga e Sal offers each school the opportunity to coordinate the visit with other complementary options: seafood tasting, a visit to the Pozo do Cachón (Cachón Well), exploring historic Muros, visiting the fish market, and a walk along Muros beach to learn about the shellfish gatherers’ work, techniques, and tools, as well as discovering the species found on our beaches. Children will be given an educational booklet upon request, which they can fill out during the visit.

well of Cachón
The well of Cachón is a magnificent work of industrial engineering dating from the second decade of the 19th century, and is one of the most important tidal mills in Europe. It was built by order of Ignacio Pérez Bazarra due to the increase in corn cultivation during the 18th century and the decrease in the flow of the area’s rivers during the summer.
Today, it serves as a Civic and Cultural Center, housing the Interpretation Center of Muiños from Costa da Morte, and an adjoining building with temporary exhibitions. Here, we display two guild tombstones and a prehistoric Bronze Age cist, dating from between 1800 and the 8th century BC. For school trips, we offer guided tours of this site of such high ethnographic, artistic, and cultural interest.
life in the sand
With the Muros Shellfish-gatherers’ Association we organise work-experience activities, during which we also inform about the diversity of our beaches and sandy mudflats. For schoolchildren we offer a visit to Muros beach, where you can learn about shellfish-gathering on foot, as well as meeting some of our most common sand-dwellers.
Dock fish market
The freshest fish and shellfish are unloaded daily to the dock market at various times of day.
The auction: voices and code names, trays, the smell of salt, fish and shellfish. The highest price wins. A spectacle not to be missed.
