Muros, Town of Water and Salt offers you a glimpse into the real town: a guided tour through the streets and places that guard the history and identity of a town linked to the Bay.
A guided visit of the former Collegiate church allows a detailed look at its elements and its symbology. Included is a climb to the bell tower, and access to two rooms exhibiting a permanent collection of religious art. The visitor can see precious metalwork, liturgical vestments and imagery. The catalog includes a triple polychrome stone image of St Anne, 14th-15th century, from the original parish church.
This site, now deconsecrated, is Muros’s oldest recorded parish church. The chapel and the sacristy, which the visitor center now occupies, are what remains of the old church of San Pedro de Muros, the oldest tht we know. Muros, Town of Water and Salt get to know the authentic legacy of generations of Muros dwellers.
