Journalists specialized in travel and tourism from different media from Barcelona, Madrid and Portugal have visited the Muros-Noia estuary in recent days to enjoy the gastronomy and scenic beauty.
The visit, which was welcomed by the president of the Rural Development Association Muros-Noia and the mayors Teresa Villaverde and Inés Monteagudo, of Lousame and Muros, respectively, began on Friday the 12th with a dinner of local products.
During the different days spent by the informants, who came from prestigius media specialized in travel, they were able to enjoy activities such as a daytime visit by the association Muros, Auga e Sal to enclaves such as the majestic Monte Louro or the beach of Area Maior, a paradise for different birds.
Another area on which the journalists’ visit was focused was industrial tourism, which was explored through an excursion to the Ciprián shipyard, in Outes, and another to the Tambre hydroelectric plant, with Antonio Palacios’ modernist building set in an area of great natural beauty.
Journalism professionals were also able to enjoy the rich landscape around the Muros-Noia estuary, visiting the Baroña fort, in Porto do Son; and already inland, in Lousame, the monastery of Toxosoutos and its beautiful waterfalls, and the hiking route of the old abandoned paper factories, which was a great success.
